Explore the ancient marvel of the city Cocin and its attractions such as the Dutch Palace, built by the Portuguese and presented to the Cochin Raja in 1555 AD. Take a boat ride on Lake Periyar and watch Asiatic elephants, Tiger leopards and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Stay overnight on 'Kettuvellam', a traditional houseboat, that will pass through the narrow channels of Vembanad Lake, paddyfields and local villages observing life in rural Kerala. Visit Kumarakom, one of the most important tourist centres in the state, with a large network of inland canals earning it the sobriquet ' Venice of the east' and then finish off the tour with a relaxed afternoon swimming and sunbathing at Kovalam located on the magnificent Arabian Sea Coast.
